Life and what it throws at us…

Saturday, August 11th, 2007

Some time ago my wife was diagnosed with kidney disease. This particular case baffled the doctors. IGA Nephropathy usually takes ~25-30 years to deteriorate the kidneys to dialesis. Helen’s were so bad they were saying 2-3 years. Bit of a blow…

Back in June we went to Canada. There was some doubt as to whether we could go or not. Well, Helen suddenly began to get better. Her kidney function was on it’s way up - excellent news. Then whilst we were away she was prayed for for healing. For the rest of the trip she had no pain whilst travelling (we covered ~3000km) and she went walking and mountain biking without experiencing the dizziness she had become so used to. I believed she had been healed.

Helen has since gone for a check up and found her kidney function and haemoglobin have dropped not improved. rubbish.

I believe God is sovereign over everything and i trust him although i don’t understand. I have learnt a lot through this time and was convinced this lesson was over. It would appear not. I wonder what else God will teach me through this.

Helen’s kidney function is 63% and haemoglobin is 102.
